Let me say that if you don’t intend to see this movie because of the actor casting issues, you don’t need to read any further. If you believe all the negative reviews that have come out in regards to this movie, you can stop reading now. Why?...The Last Airbender Movie

Honestly, this was a film I expected not to like, but I came away with the sincere hope that the Motion Picture Academy will remember Jackie Chan come Oscar time...The Karate Kid

There is wisdom in the adage about not fixing that which is not broken.  Unfortunately, following this adage doesn’t seem to be anything which is inherently wired in my genes...Fixing What's Not Broke

It’s not much of a secret that I served in the Marine Corps or that I was a combat photographer in Vietnam decades ago.  While many of the photos I shot are in the National Archives, most of them are simply listed as “Defense Department Photos” except this one

In early February, I commented on the toll that cancer had taken on noted film critic and columnist, Roger Ebert. It left him without the ability to speak or eat, but it could not stop his marvelous way with words as he chronicled his story.  The piece I wrote is here.

Now comes word, that Ebert is able to speak using a text to speech software that in fact uses his own voice. It’s a wonderful story with a reasonable happy ending.  It’s just the type tale that Ebert would give a “thumbs up.”
